Mommy Project #1 -"Aster's Firsts"
If there is only a tutor 101 module for mommies , parenting should be surprisingly easy. We can easily deal with baby chaos, sugar ban episodes would be calmer, and follow-up shots won’t send us in panic. I am a clumsy mom, and a bump on Aster’s head is my new normal. Yes. I’m too ashamed to recite the fact that because I’m a type of mom that rushes everything, i really need the helping hand of dad. Amidst that scary side of parenting, a vivid art play ,almost perfect toddler photos, and a shy angelic smile, amazingly give us parents, the craziest and happiest ride of our lives.
I want to share some facts about Aster, as I sheepishly watched her grow...

My need-to-know guide before moving in to a new home
After much thought and research, we’ve finally moved in, to our new apartment last April. My parents,my bestfriend Dr. Veloso and www.google.com helped me execute the rituals before transferring to a our new house.hehehe.
They say that the place we’re living in,greatly affects our family. Before transferring, we first do our homework of finding out if the residence is near key places. We also ask around if the place provides competent security(the apartment owner surely wouldn’t mind if we have reasonable requests.) and needless to say, check out our potential neighbours. We really want to make sure that the entire environment fits our family’s lifestyle!
consider the birthdates of each family member-to give you a guide as what date and time you should be transferring. They say it is best to move in during new moon.It equates with the potential to become abundant. Start transferring early in the morning where there is sunlight, sky is clear, and has no clouds.Pick out the positives!
*The husband enters the empty house first. He should say a short prayer and proclaim ownership of the house. He shall bring inside holy water and salt, a sack of rice, a loaf of bread, a glass of water, and the plastic/glass containers filled with the following:oil, water, rice, and salt(not to be used!keep them safe in the kitchen).
-The wife and the kids will now enter.( I brought in the bible, crucifix,Sto. Nino,St. Benedict medals,Miraculous medals, and some novenas. )
Locate and position the altar and pray. Secure copies for these prayers:St. Benedict,St. Michael,Sacred heart of Jesus, and Sto. Nino and prayers for ptotection.
Open all doors and windows. Hang wind chimes to attract positive vibes and good fortune.
Open:lights,aircon,electric fans.
Let water taps run for a few minutes.Put the toilet lid down when not in use.Always close the bathroom door if it’s not occupied.
Start moving your stuff inside. You can actually move new stuff earlier than the appointed date and time but existing stuff like your tired-looking furniture should be moved in the designated date and time or later. There should be no furniture behind the door.No chair should face the door. There should be even number of seats in the living/dining room.
-Cleanse the house by sprinkling a mixture of rice and salt at all the corners. You can burn incense in every room of the house too.
Boil a kettle of water and make some beverages.
Switch on the tv, and radio
-Avoid too many electronics in the bedroom. There should be no mirror facing the bed and keep nothing under the bed too.
Cook a meal for the family.and prepare these: biko, nilaga, pansit.
Give everything a home:throw outdated items(you can sell out overgrown stuff too) , categorize things, and perk up some cabinetsYou can google for some decor tips ( you can add a splash of color to your plain walls) .Assign people to be waste pickers.A mess-free environment can change your bad mood to good.hehe.
Sleep overnight!

Second Part: (hosted by me..ahem-doting mom!)- Papa Fortune prepared snacks for the kids and planned the good bites for dinner! He hired a really great cook!
*Because I really want Aster’s party to be unique,I personally organized part 2 of the program(It’s actually my life-long dream of being an events organizer..haha).When we delivered the invites to the kids, we informed the parents that we will be picking best dressed boy and girl of the party. There would be a new twist on the usual kiddy parties-- educational games.Kids will have a chance to play, learn and win! Games about numbers, letters, colors, creativity and memory were prepared!
Other necessary prep work I created for the party :
- name tags for every kid, so that the picking of the best dressed boy and girl of the party would be easier. Hehe.
-pink construction paper –everybody gets the chance to buddy up and vote for their best dressed playmate!
-a glass bowl and tiny pieces of paper-rolled. Everybody’s names will be in it!
-a finale raffle -3 board games will be given away after the party.
-barney souvenirs- bought barney face towels, playing cards, pencils, crayons from kym @ ebay.i grouped and paired the items, and bundle all with a purple bow.neat.
