Chalkboard: Aster's Grade 1 "Mess Around" Reviewer

After Aster's 2-hr LapLuck (laptop rest and breather) after school, I start flipping the pages of her books for homeworks and unfinished school tasks (workbooks).I also open her notebooks to check on executions and accomplishments in school, then we start the tawdry #ChalkBoard!

The unearthing of our scurvy board for scribble practice is an opportune stretch for Aster's inexplicable fondness of chalks and beams.I consider this project a smacking tactic, and at the same time an unerring way to impose a daily timetable to review and press on to dot's new lessons in school!

Ormoc is a stepladder of Cebu and Tacloban, and here are some weighty photos from the quick visit of my currently-residing sis-in-law Cha and nephew Brix.I only have two snaps, sorry! I used my outmoded mobile during the hasty escape!

After a few stumbles and falls, these clever tots finally shared a lovely shot
;-)

And a hurried pose with the folks!

School Year 2014-2015 Rota

Told the carer to get a crippling (substantial) load nalang for the school year since my daughter's principal ordered the parents to just leave the kids in the classroom during snacks and lunch,to train them(graders) do things on their own and be independent. The principal assured us that the youngsters will be assisted by their  advisers, teach them table manners and lead/guide them to eat properly.

Tipnut Favorite: 11 Ways to Reuse Newspaper Around the House

11 Ways To Reuse Newspaper Around The House from Tipnut:
1.)Use sheets of newspaper to wash your windows, glass table tops and mirrors. Just spray on window cleaner then wipe clean with a sheet of newspaper.
2.)Use in messy cleanup jobs like cleaning the oven, use sheets of crumpled newspaper to wipe up most of the gunk before wiping down with a soapy wet sponge.
3.)Pack newspapers in damp or smelly luggage, stinky plastic containers or smelly fridge to absorb odors. Great to do when packing away camping coolers for the winter, stuff them with newspapers so they won’t stink in the Spring.
4.)Roll newspaper tight and use as firestarters.
5.)Use to wrap parcels and gifts, the cartoon section is popular with the kiddos.
6.)Pack unripened fruit with newspaper to help them ripen quicker.
7.)Painting jobs: lay newspapers on the floor to catch paint splatters, wet sheets of paper and stick on windows when painting window trim, no more splatters on window glass to wipe up.
8.)Line trash cans, use newspapers to line worm bins, line the bottom of a cat litter tray before adding cat litter, makes cleanup easier.
9.)Also use to line pet cages.
10.)Lay sheets of newspapers in garden beds about 1/4″ inch thick before covering with wood chips, mulch or decorative rocks, will help prevent weed growth. Make sure to thoroughly moisten the newspaper before covering with the mulch so they stay in place.
11.)Make garden seed starting pots

------------

Before we junk the papers, let us first review this list. Some of Tipnut readers say they also recycle the dailies by:
1.) Stuffing wet sneakers, boots, etc. It will abosrb all the moisture and shoes will dry much faster!
2.)For cleaning windows, it doesn’t leave linty stuff behind like paper towels do, and a spray bottle filled with a vinegar/water solution works great too.
3.)Put a layer of newspaper in the bottom of the veggie drawer in the fridge to soak up any watery stuff that leaks out of the veggies.
4.) Layer  newspapers in the bottom of the trash bag in the waste basket to soak up any drips so you don’t drip all the way from the waste basket to the trash can outside and have something to clean up when you come back inside.
3.)Spring Cleaning, once you’ve cleaned the top of your kitchen cabinets (open shelf facing ceiling) fold sheets of newpaper to the size of the shelf, and place all along the shelf. It collects dust and grease from frying. No more scrubbing.Next time you spring clean, it will be quick and easy. Just roll the dirty sheets of newspaper together, throw away, then give your shelf a fast wipe and replace with clean newspaper.
4.)Use newspaper to stuff washed tennis shoes. It helps the shoe keep it’s original shape.
5.)You can shred newspapers and use for your pet's cage, then put used stuff in the compost pile.
Cheap and safe for our pet and excellent way to balance the kitchen “green” materials in the compost.
