Dot's On Stream Doodle 03/23/13
Quite amusing how a 4yo can navigate computer buttons with no trouble. Here's a squiggle from the Paint selection in my laptop. The violet stick drawings are always present of course, with the usual skyward wave of the hair, the Pop-Dot-Mom walking pose, the house at the core and her nickname in caps.I don't know where she got the glowing stars and heart, but i'm sure she completed the doodle with so much love.
Mommy Project #5: The CashCan Plan
Money is indeed too hard to hit upon, and I believe teaching my daughter to save (and spend would) later on mold her to be a mature financial possessor. Just this week, we started Aster's CashCan Plan, where Pop and I put in 5 pesos each, every day, until Saturday(the day where she'll crack up the can),with dot budgeting the coins for next day's mall stroll. We consider Sunday as dot's splurge day, but contrary to the usual binge day, she'll spend her money instead of ours.
So here's the agreement:
1.) She'll ajar the tub.
2.)She'll make a spending plan.
3.)I can help out.But...
4.)I wouldn't foot the excess bill! And oh yes...
5.)She should have at least 5 extra coins for next week's mall stroll.
Snap #1:Enthusiastic to unlock her Pooh cylinder.
Snap #2:Counting the p5 coins.
Snap #3: Writes the crack up date and the amount of her riches.
Snap #4: 21 pcs=p105
Snap #5: Keeps the coinage .
Snap #6: And....
Voila! Here's her first Splash Out Shopping!!
She didn't exhaust all her coins.
She even opted for an optional extra for next week.
And so that's it.

A List Junkie's Hello Kitty Planning Aid :-)
I always strive to pull off my to do list regularly, with contents just...uummm....plainly an assortment of bits and bobs of a typical working mom's life.If you flip the pages you will see Eye Doodad orders of my steadfast patients sorted chronologically,a few jottings from the open courses of some online continuing education sites for optometrists,an unsystematic list of this year's payables,a daily hoopla, bashful recipes,on stream suppliers,a spending list,a spacious make-shift album/s of doodles, casual register of Mom Plans, jumpy Chow Calendars,a roll of random thoughts, grocery lists, some personal thingies and a few buckets of my tedious Daily To Do Lists! haha!!
Keeping a planning aid is truly essential for every working mom,or when even just a stay-at-home hardworking mom.It is super great for organizing/keeping noteworthy memories.

Musings: Chi Chi Shops in PH
The extensive rise of Chinese/Taiwanese shops in PH is somewhat skyscraping. Think of bargain-basement finds! But what's startling is that a few of our local shops are firmly closing up,bec of the scarceness (or somewhat detachment) of local customers/consumers.With the decline of homegrown shops, stemmed the plummet of Filipino enterprise, therefore leaving a few Filipino entrepreneurs out of work and of course, penniliess.Sad,right? Now,do you think there's still an antidote to this business upheaval? Can we easily instruct everyone to buy only Filipino-made products? The answer of course is NO.Sigh.

Teach My Kid to Treasure Cash
I have started teaching my daughter to treasure greenbacks with these simple habits and behavior:
Toy-selection: She now can easily understand why we have to choose a cheapo toy over a pricey one.I sometimes give her this option: Get one toy, priced moderately(?) or 3 toys when added, sums up close to the toy she adores. The analogy : It's 3 vs 1.. The outcome? She chooses one toy.Brilliant.
My "NO" is irrevocable: When I say no (during mall strolls) for a certain request like figures or dolls,I am effin' stiff, but I try to mull over economical substitutes. Think of papers and erasers as a replacement (on top of !!) for Doll Houses and Barbies. ha ha...
The Freakin' 4$ Rule: We shop with usually an au pair in tow, and when dot keeps on badgering me to buy her new toys/school supplies at the mall,I instruct child-minder to buy 5 items totalling 4$. Impossible but truly possible.
Virtual CashCans: She should understand and be aware of the dough we are subtly stashing for her.
Touchable CashCans: Coins are gems. We will soon open them, and she'll take part in the number crunching.
