Philhealth's 10K aid to dengue patients in Yolanda-hit areas.

"PhilHealth offers special privileges to typhoon Yolanda victims"

True.
And we will forever be grateful for Philhealth and Dr.Christine Veloso-Navarro for helping us lessen our hospital bill during my childminders's confinement at Ormoc Gatchian Hospital last week.
I have read about this project but was uncertain of their proposition. When I found out that my minder has dengue(after erratic body temps, discomforts and blood tests),my physician friend told me to include her in the impoverished/penniless list for instant Philhealth aid.
And we were financially abetted.
Thank God for mistimed but still lucky/opportune times.

Manila, Philippines – The Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) is extending medical coverage to all “Yolanda” survivors regardless of whether they sought medical treatment in an accredited facility in Tacloban or in any other region in the country.
PhilHealth CEO and President Alexander Padilla told a press conference yesterday that the national health insurance agency is reimbursing medical claims of Yolanda survivors whether they were hospitalized in Tacloban or outside the city. Those who were not members prior to the calamity will still benefit from PhilHealth packages.
“In a way, automatic silang nagiging member kasi nakukuha naming . . . We are covering all, whether they are member or non-member and whether they were treated in Tacloban or in Manila. We are also covering whether they were treated in makeshift medical tents or in a hospital,” Padilla said.
“We’ve given latitude…We are assuming that all cases are Yolanda-related if it happened during that period so that we no longer have to make a distinction if a particular injury was Yolanda-related or not,” he said.
